Interactive Brokers Launches Investment Themes Widget Today

Interactive Brokers has added a new Investment Themes Widget to its PortfolioAnalyst, giving traders a clear view of how their portfolios align with important investment trends. The new widget allows investors to analyze their holdings more effectively and track performance across different themes. Highlighting the most relevant areas of a portfolio, it helps traders make informed decisions and manage their investments strategically. 

The widget offers a prioritized view, automatically sorting themes by strength and weight so that the most significant themes appear first. Traders can focus on the areas where their portfolios are strongest while identifying themes that may need more attention. In addition, users can expand any theme to see the underlying companies and the rank of each company within that theme.

This drill-down feature gives a detailed understanding of which holdings drive exposure to key investment trends and enables investors to monitor specific companies more closely. Performance tracking is another important feature of the widget. It shows Unrealized P&L for each company, allowing traders to see how individual investments impact theme-based performance.

Interactive Brokers also ensures full transparency by displaying unmapped positions separately, so no part of the portfolio is left unexamined. To access the widget, traders can navigate to Performance & Reports, select PortfolioAnalyst, and then go to the Investment Themes Widget. Alternatively, they can click the Menu in the top left corner, select PortfolioAnalyst, and open the widget from there. Clicking the blue arrow icon in the top right corner reveals additional details about each theme and its companies, providing deeper insights for careful analysis.
