iCapital partners with Tangible Markets as the firm announces a strategic investment to expand liquidity in private market investing. The two firms will work together to develop scalable liquidity solutions for alternative investment funds, aiming to help wealth managers, asset managers, and institutional investors unlock value from traditionally illiquid holdings. The collaboration underscores the growing importance of liquidity in private markets, which is essential to broadening participation among advisors and their clients.

According to the companies, Tangible Markets’ liquidity solutions are set to be integrated into the iCapital platform by the end of 2025. Lawrence Calcano, Chairman and CEO of iCapital, emphasized the significance of the agreement, stating, “Lack of liquidity has long been a friction point for broader allocations to alternative investments. We’re proud to partner with Tangible Markets and invest in advancing the technology to redefine institutional-grade liquidity solutions.”

He further explained, “By building a robust secondary market, we offer clients greater transparency and the flexibility to efficiently rebalance portfolios without waiting for a natural liquidity event, enabling strategic allocation adjustments while maintaining exposure to long-term, value-generating assets.”

Through this partnership, liquidity solutions will become accessible via iCapital’s ecosystem, creating a seamless and transparent experience for market participants. The approach connects a wide buyer-seller network, improves price discovery, and simplifies transaction execution, which in turn makes alternative investments more accessible and dynamic. In practice, the solution enables digital experiences for managing liquidity across private equity, private credit, real assets, and hedge funds. Furthermore, advisors and qualified investors will also gain the ability to rebalance portfolios through regular auctions, ensuring greater flexibility when accessing liquidity or adjusting exposure to alternative strategies.

Calcano added, “With this next step, iCapital is extending its end-to-end platform to include liquidity solutions across private market fund strategies, registered funds, and credit offerings. By connecting seamlessly to the broader iCapital ecosystem, we give our clients the tools to effectively manage alternatives with the flexibility and transparency they expect. It’s an important milestone as periodic liquidity becomes key to building confidence in alternatives as a core portfolio component.”

Both sellers and buyers stand to benefit from the partnership. Sellers gain access to curated auctions, real-time pricing insights, and analytics to unlock value from illiquid assets, while buyers access high-quality opportunities with faster execution and greater diversification. Lastly, the firms did not disclose the terms of the agreement.
