James Kassam departs eToro, stepping down as Head of Marketing for eToro Money, the company’s crypto wallet and e-money account unit. During his four-year tenure, he led global product launches, expanded the neo-banking platform, and strengthened customer education initiatives. He joined eToro Money in 2022, bringing extensive marketing experience from his previous role as Head of Marketing at Rooster Money, a children-focused banking and savings startup now owned by NatWest.

His experience in both fintech and consumer-focused banking positioned him to lead eToro Money’s marketing efforts across multiple regions. eToro Money offers an e-money account managed through a mobile app and provides a Visa debit card to Club members in select regions. In the UK, eToro Money UK Ltd operates the service, while eToro Money Malta Ltd serves EU clients. Under Kassam’s leadership, the unit strengthened its localised offerings, launched new products at a global scale, and focused on educating customers about its fintech solutions.

Reflecting on his departure, Kassam wrote on social media, “After four years at eToro, it’s time for my next challenge. It’s been an exhilarating ride from start to finish, launching products at a global scale, building out our neo-banking platform, strengthening our localised offering, and, most importantly, educating our customers along the way. Oh, and an IPO in the middle.”

He added, “None of it would have been possible (or nearly as enjoyable) without an exceptionally talented team. Thank you to Orel Assia, Shira Yitshaki (Falah), Moran Lapid, Debbie Gold Hadar, and Guy Gabel. A special shout-out to Oded Ben Dror for your guidance and leadership, and the unstoppable Stephanie Wilks-Wiffen for being an inspiration throughout.” Kassam concluded his message with a hint about his plans, stating, “More on the next challenge soon (Saving my ‘new year, new role’ clichés for that post).”

His departure marks a notable change in eToro Money’s leadership team at a time when the company continues to expand its fintech services across Europe and beyond. The news highlights the ongoing evolution in the fintech sector, where talent movement often signals strategic shifts and new opportunities for innovation. eToro Money has not yet announced a replacement for Kassam, but the company is expected to continue its focus on product expansion and customer engagement in the coming months.
