Interactive Brokers Adds Themes Tool to TWS

Interactive Brokers has introduced a new feature to its Trader Workstation (TWS) platform as part of its continued efforts to enhance trading functionality. The Interactive Brokers Themes Tool to TWS stands out as a significant addition, allowing users to explore companies and data linked to specific market themes more efficiently.

To use this feature, users can right-click on an asset of interest and click the Fundamentals Explorer icon. Alternatively, they can select the New Window icon in the Mosaic layout and search for Fundamentals Explorer. Once the screen appears, users can navigate to the Themes tab, click a theme, and then select Theme Overview to view in-depth details and associated instruments. In addition to the Themes tool, Interactive Brokers has also introduced a new pricing column titled “30-Day Average Close Price.”

This column displays the average closing price of the selected asset over the past 30 trading days, helping users identify trends and evaluate price movements with greater precision. This enhancement is part of a broader update strategy aimed at giving traders more comprehensive data for decision-making. 

Moreover, in a prior release, specifically build 10.36, the platform incorporated forecast contracts by ForecastEx, LLC on select CME Futures. These exchange-listed Forecasts and Event Contracts are tied to the outcomes of specific events and are designed as short-term positions that expire at the end of the trading day. These contracts offer a unique way for traders to express their views on whether the prices of major futures markets will rise or fall by the end of the session. 

Through these strategic additions, Interactive Brokers continues to refine the TWS experience by integrating timely, data-rich tools that support both active and analytical trading approaches. With each new build, the firm reinforces its commitment to providing professional traders with the tools needed to stay competitive in fast-moving markets.
