Interactive Brokers has introduced AI tools to its Advisor Portal, enhancing financial advisors’ trading and portfolio management capabilities. These enhancements integrate advanced features from the company’s renowned desktop platform, streamlining client account management and strengthening the advisory experience.

The new features include Portfolio View, Allocation, Rebalance, and Tax Loss Harvesting, tools designed to optimize portfolio management and improve operational efficiency. Advisors will also benefit from a cutting-edge AI Commentary Generator, a unique tool that simplifies the creation of customized portfolio performance reports and market commentary. 

Steve Sanders, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Product Development at Interactive Brokers, highlighted the significance of the updates: “Our web-based Advisor Portal is now more powerful than ever, offering advisors the same robust trading and portfolio management experience they’ve come to expect from our desktop platform.” Portfolio View is among the key updates. It gives advisors a comprehensive overview of client accounts and offers detailed insights into individual positions and account performance.

Furthermore, the Allocation Order tool enables advisors to distribute stock orders across multiple client accounts with customizable allocation options or automated algorithms. For tax optimization, Tax Loss Harvesting identifies opportunities to offset capital gains, ensuring compliance with U.S. tax laws by scanning client portfolios for losses at various levels. The standout feature for U.S.-based advisors is the AI Commentary Generator. Integrated with PortfolioAnalyst, this generative AI tool conducts research in seconds and produces four key sections: Portfolio Summary, Portfolio News and Trends, Macro Update, and Economic and Market Outlook. 

By analyzing a broad range of sources, the tool assists advisors in quickly generating comprehensive reports, saving valuable time, and enhancing client engagement. Interactive Brokers also offers its free PortfolioAnalyst tool, consolidating financial data from over 15,000 institutions, providing a unified view of client portfolios, and empowering advisors to make informed investment decisions.

As Interactive Brokers continues to innovate, Sanders emphasized, “We’re excited about our clients’ early response to the AI Commentary Generator and look forward to rolling it out globally.” Currently, the AI tool is available exclusively to U.S.-based financial advisors.
