Trading 212 has launched its Automated ETF Investment Portfolios, allowing users to create diversified portfolios through exchange-traded funds (ETFs). This innovative service aims to make investing a regular habit by enabling users to automate their investments with what Trading 212 calls a “pie.” This feature particularly appeals to novice investors and those seeking a more streamlined approach to portfolio management.

Investors can choose from various ready-made pies and diversified portfolios constructed from ETFs offered by some of the world’s largest asset managers, including BlackRock. This gives users an easy way to gain exposure to a broad range of markets and sectors without selecting individual stocks. After selecting a pie, users set their investment goals and choose to make deposits automatically or manually, allowing them to manage their investments flexibly.

However, it’s important to note that the BlackRock Core pie is currently only available in select European countries, including Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

This geographic limitation may restrict access for potential investors in other regions. While Trading 212 handles the execution of trades and manages the technology behind this automated investing service, all investment and rebalancing decisions ultimately remain the user’s responsibility.

This means investors must stay informed and actively manage their investment strategies, even with the automated features. Trading 212 clarifies that its services utilize asset allocation guidance provided by BlackRock, although BlackRock itself does not directly offer any services or products to Trading 212 customers.

Additionally, BlackRock disclaims any liability for the investment decisions that Trading 212 users make, emphasizing its lack of affiliation with the brokerage firm. As the trend toward automated investing continues to gain traction, Trading 212’s latest offering is poised to make investing more accessible and less intimidating for individuals looking to build their financial futures.
